Our clinic utilizes Fotona lasers because they are recognized as a world leader in the development and innovation of dental technologies and applications. They are also the first manufacturer to develop a dental laser that performs better than conventional rotary drills and the first to introduce a single system that can utilize two complementary laser wavelengths (Er:YAG and Nd:YAG).
One of the more common procedures that utilizes the unique properties of the Er:YAG wavelength is to remove orthodontic brackets or veneers. Using this wavelength allows for the painless and quick removal of the orthodontic brackets or veneers and reduces the risk of enamel fracture due to the fact that the wavelength transmits laser energy through the bracket or veneer. This decreases the thermal load on the surrounding tissue due to selective ablation and thermal softening, which reduces adhesion.
